How do I change my appointment?

Can I drive following surgery?

As surgery may be carried out at your appointment and a patch put over your eye it is recommended that you do not drive yourself to and from your appointment.

 

Can someone accompany me?

You are advised not to drive following surgery. You may bring along support to your appointment.

 

Will I need an anaesthetic?

All operations are carried out using local anaesthetic to numb the skin. You will remain awake during your procedure.

 

What happens after my surgery?

You may need an eyepad after your operation and this will usually need to stay in place for 4 hours. You will be given ointment to apply to the lid following any operation. Usually you will not require a follow-up appointment unless you have had a biopsy taken or stitches.
