Eyelid Surgery Overview
Established in 2007, Minor Ops provides a community-based minor eyelid surgery service. Based in the North East, Minor Ops has been commissioned to provide NHS treatment by NHS County Durham and Tees Valley Clinical Commissioning Groups.
Minor Ops eyelid surgery provides a second tier service in a primary care setting. As a consultant-led service, we will take responsibility for the appropriate management of the patient's eyelid condition including review and onward referral.
Patients are treated close to their homes by ophthalmologists and specialist ophthalmic nurse practitioners in hospital standard clinical rooms in local GP practices and Primary Care Centres.

Procedures carried out by Minor Ops cost the commissioner 30% less than when done in a hospital.
We strive to keep waiting times from referral to treatment to four weeks or less.
